Bernard Olayo, founder of Hewatele, announced that the cost of healthcare oxygen in Kenya will drop by 50% next year due to a $3.6 billion (Kenyan Shillings) funding secured from the United States and Finnish governments. The company aims to increase production from 2 tonnes to 20 tonnes by May 2025, reducing oxygen prices from 280 to 150 shillings per litre. Despite high electricity and delivery costs, the commitment is to continually lower prices. Currently, Kenya's reliance on imported energy makes it susceptible to global price fluctuations.
